Thrive Counselling has been serving Manitobans since 2014. We have three locations conveniently located around Winnipeg, and offer secure-video sessions to those outside the immediate area. Our dedicated team consists of Master Level Therapists as well as some therapists in training. We believe therapy shouldn’t just be normal and stigma-free, it should be accessible to everyone.

Job Description for Associate Therapist
Our clinic is expanding and we are looking for therapists to join our amazing team of dedicated and passionate therapists!
Have you thought about making the leap to private practice in the mental heath field but were apprehensive due to rent, advertising or administration? Are you worried about building up a client base and hoping for a full schedule? Thrive has the solution! Therapists at Thrive only have to focus on the client, while we take care of the rest. We’ll make sure you hit the ground running with a flexible schedule and everything you need so you can do what you want to do; work with your clients!
Our office hours are by appointment only. We offer therapy services for children, pre-teens, teens, adults, couples, families as well as EMDR therapy. We aim to be the one-stop-therapy office that clients can turn to for all their diverse needs. Our offices are downtown at 254 Edmonton St., 3362 Roblin Blvd. in Charleswood and 1549 St. Mary’s Rd. in St. Vital, open seven days a week. Therapists can set their own schedule (8-30+ per week); client needs at this time are for evening and weekend appointments.
Training, Education, & Experience
Master degree (MMFT, MSW/RSW, MACP, MA, Psych, M. Ed. Counselling Psych.).
Registration with a legislated professional body, and/or certified with a professional association; as well as liability insurance.
Satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. Any cost is your responsibility. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
1-3 years clinical training.
Clinical experience with a variety of therapy and theory models for example: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT – couples), Attachment, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Satir, Structural Family Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Clinical experience with a variety of interventions from various therapy models.
Training with various presenting concerns with teens and adults including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, family of origin issues, sexuality, addictions, relationship stress, boundary setting, abuse, infidelity, conflict resolution.
Excellent time management, organization and communication skills.
Clinical experience working with couples and families will be an asset.
Proficiency in multiple languages will be an asset/
EMDR training will be an asset.
Responsibilities
- Providing therapy services (in-person and secure video) at one of our offices – you do not need to have clients already.
- Maintaining session notes and file documents
- Seeking clinical supervision on a regular basis to continue to expand and grow as a mental health clinician.
- Working from a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to help clients achieve mutually agreed upon goals.
- Taking payment from clients (cash, debit, credit)
- Using our client database.
Returning client emails or phone calls in a timely manner. - Collaborative, supportive and respectful of your team members.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, weekend, evening and daytime.
Part-time hours: 8-30+ per week.
